The SB-700 speedlight was introduced by Nikon in 2010 and is our favorite for both FX and DX cameras. It detects which type of camera body is used set the appropriate zoom range to 14-120mm for DX bodies and 24-120mm for FX bodies. It has more efficient use of batteries and three light distribution patterns to choose. The recycle time is about 3 seconds with fresh batteries. It has a guide number of 28m/92ft at ISO 100 and 35mm zoom head position. It features i-TTL control and can be used with Nikon's Creative Lighting System (CLS) and operate up to two additional flash units. It operates as a stand-alone Speedlight or as a wireless remote unit. This Nikon flash attachment requires 4 AA alkaline batteries, not included.
