This is a good choice if you need the broad focal length range and want the compact size. This is a very popular lens because it’s easy to carry around and it has some very nice features. The vibration reduction allows you to leave the tripod at home, even at 300mm. Due to the internal focusing, you can use polarized filters with ease because the front element doesn’t rotate. The image quality is very good for the price, but not quite in the same league as some higher end lenses.
