Nikon and Canon have both produced fantastic 14mm primes lenses. This is a very SHARP super-wide with little distortion, and a very wide depth of field. Most people promote this as a great lens for architecture, which it is, but we also love it for “capturing the moment” at gatherings like wedding receptions and holidays. It produces photos that make you feel like you’re in the room. If you haven’t shot with this type of lens, you should. Take a few days to practice before the big event, and you’ll be producing great photos from a whole new perspective. D40/D60 users need to focus manually.
