Canon makes 5 different 70-200mm lenses. This is the one with the f/4 aperture and NO image stabilization. It is the lightest of Canon's 70-200mm zooms because it has fewer lens elements, and some people believe this makes it the sharpest. It has the constant f/4 aperture over their entire zoom range. It's a great choice if you don't need the image stabilization because you're using a tripod or you're in bright sunlight. It also makes a great secondary lens because it's less expensive.
