This is the perfect lens to rent because it’s expensive and it’s not for everybody. It's is definitely a try before you buy item. This lens should be high on your list if you love capturing available light, even when there's not much light to capture. On the positive side, this lens will give you the sharpest image at f/1.2 to f/2.0 of any 50mm, so you don’t have to use it at f/1.2 to benefit from it. The challenge with this lens is the very narrow depth of field at f/1.2, especially when you’re fairly close to your subject. You have to pay close attention to where the autofocus locks or you're not going to be happy with the results. Don’t let the camera decide where to focus by using multiple autofocus points, use only one.
