Wow, this is a great combination of performance, versatility, and size. It's compact enough to carry all day, the focal range is very useful, the image quality is excellent, and it is has image stabilization. There is just a touch of distortion but it isn't objectionable at all when you consider the compact packaging. This is an excellent choice for vacations, outdoor sporting events where you're fairly close to the action, outdoor receptions, etc. It works well indoors too, but it doesn't have a large aperture so you'll need a flash. Being an EF-S lens, it only mounts to camera bodies that are EF-S compatible.
