Tokina makes two versions of this lens. This one is fully compatible with Nikon DX cameras that have internal focusing motors such as D1, D1X, D1H, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D2Xs, D50, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D300s, D7000. It won't autofucus on compact DX cameras that don't have a focusing motor including D40, D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D5000, and D5100. Use version II of this lens if you have a compact DX camera.
This a super wide angle lens was introduced by Tokina recently and has received some great reviews. It has great optics and a wide f/2.8 aperture. It uses Tokina's One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism to switch between manual focus and autofocus by snapping the focus ring forward for AF and rearward for MF. It's different, and it works pretty good. This version of the lens has the Nikon mount. Caution: This is a DX lens so it only works with Nikon digital cameras, and your camera body must have a focusing motor in it to drive the AF.
