42MP Full-frame sensor, plus captures 4K video The Sony A7R III takes the high resolution sensor of the A7R II and updated the image processor making this camera a fantastic choice for action shots, sports and wildlife. The Fast Hybrid AF system has 425 contrast detection points as well as the 399 phase detection points. ISO has been expanded to 100-32,000, making low-lit situations easier to work in.
The A7R III has 5 axis steady shot INSIDE sensor-shift image stabilization, which reduces camera shake by as much as 5.5 stops, providing crisp shots with greatly reduced camera-shake blur.
For video, internal recording of UHD 4K movies is possible in multiple frame rates
up to 30 fps. Full-frame 4K recording has also been
improved from the A7R II for improved quality when working at mid to high
sensitivities unitizing the whole sensor width. Full HD
1080p recording is supported in frame rates up to 120 fps, and the 120 fps recording also
enables 4x and 5x slow-motion movie recording with the frame rate set to
either 30p or 24p.
8MP stills during
playback are also an option with 4K video recording by taking a frame grab from a movie and storing it as a
separate file.
