This is a great prime lens because it is small, light, sharp, and provides very usable wide aperture. These features make this lens very versatile indoors and out. It's good for group portraits, landscapes, general indoor photography, and as a second lens to carry with you because it's so small and light weight. The picture angle is 62 degrees on an FX camera (44 degrees on a DX camera), it can focus down to 10 inches, it’s less than 2 inches long, and it weighs just a little over 7 ounces. D40 and D60 owners please check with Nikon for compatibility.
