This is the lens to have if you’re taking walking around taking close-ups of flowers, butterflies, and other small things. The VR lets you leave the tripod a home, and the 105mm focal length means you can be far enough away from the subject so that you’re not creating a shadow or disturbing the subject. You can have some serious fun with this one. The only drawback is the focusing behavior is a little bit unpredictable. Solve this by taking multiple shots and move in a out a bit to be sure you get a good one.
