A great choice for both full-frame and cropped-frame shooters, the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens is an excellent lens by almost any measure. Prime lenses are the only thing will beat it in sharpness, but not by much. It is sharp in the center at f/2.8 at all focal lengths. Full-frame shooters will see the extreme corners get a bit soft when below 28mm and wider than f/8. Cropped-frame shooters won’t see this happen. Contrast and saturation are superior with this lens. About the only thing you’re not getting is image stabilization. This excels in many applications such as portraits, weddings, and indoor events.
