This is an outstanding wide angle zoom, especially for those using full-frame cameras. The improvement over the original version of this lens is in greatly improved corner sharpness and resistance to flare. It’s loaded with great features that make it a joy to use. It has a circular aperture for great background blur, internal focusing, a ring type USM, and new AF algorithms for fast and quiet auto-focusing. Full frame users will benefit from this Mark II lens. Cropped-frame users won’t see a big difference from the original version, but will be thrilled with the photos just the same. Note that it uses 82mm filters!
