This is an outstanding value for a lens in this focal length range. It is definitely one of our favorites. The long reach, the IS, the sharp images, the fast focus, and the solid build make this a joy to use. Take this along on your next trip and you’ll bring back photographs, not just snapshots. Take it to your kid’s next soccer game and you’ll capture the expression on the kid’s faces. Yes, it’s substantial in size but not tiring to use. We sometimes wish it had a wider aperture, but that would make it a lot heavier and expensive. We think it does a great job as is.
