This combination tripod and ballhead is the one you want if your shooting with lenses that are smaller than the 70-200mm f/2.8 size lenses. If size and weight are a primary concern, then go ahead and use it with the 70-200mm f/2.8 size lenses. It's slightly less rigid than the heavier duty tripod, but plenty strong enough to support the weight. The tripod is the Benro Carbon Fiber C-058. We chose it because it is very lightweight, rigid, and compact. The Giottos MH-1302 ballhead is smooth and stable. This is a very nice setup.
