Sony produces some exceptionally sharp lenses, including this one. The focus is lighting fast, and totally quiet. This is NOT a budget lens, this is a high quality compact lens. Often times, such as with landscape photography or groups of people or street photography, a f/2.5 aperture is plenty. Those situations make this lens a good choice because it's so small and compact, making it easy to carry. It has an aperture ring which enables fast manual control of the aperture while shooting, nice!
