Description Specs Extended Information

This high quality camera is rich with features for stills and video.

Still Photography: The 24.3 megapixel sensor has plenty of resolution for nearly all applications. It contains the EXPEED 4 image processor. Together, they produce outstanding images with smooth color graduations and low noise, even in low light. The ISO sensitivity range is 100-12800 and we've seen almost no noise at all at levels up to 3200. Continuous shooting is possible up to 6.5 fps. The autofocus system is outstanding. You'll probably give up on using single focus points and let the camera do the work with the configurable focus zones. It has a built-in flash rated at 39 ft at ISO 100. The HDR function is fantastic. It takes two shots of the same scene at different exposures and resolves them into a single images that have more properly exposed highlights and shadows. The images are stunning, not like the dull no-contrast images of the past.

Video and Cinematography: The D750 has strong video capabilities. It can capture full HD (1920x1080) video at 24,30, or 60 fps (for slow motion) with continuous shots up to 20 minutes. It uses the H.246/MPEG-4 codec with a bit rate of either 12 or 24Mbps, with the latter producing a higher quality image and much larger files. The camera has two SD slots so you can shoot for a long time before the cards are full. Broadcast-quality uncompressed video can be captured on an external device via the HDMI port. Power aperture control supported. The video quality is excellent with very little moire and rolling shutter effects; you'll have to look very closely to find them. The tilting very-high-res LCD monitor is very bright so you can see the live-view when holding the camera high or low. Zebra bars can be displayed to show over exposed areas. Auto-focus during video capture is not a strong area for this camera. The colors and dynamic range are excellent. It captures sound with a stereo microphone, or plug in an external microphone using a 3.5mm jack, and it can be monitored via the headphone jack. Audio levels and headphone levels can be controlled, plus frequency response and wind noise filter levels are adjustable.
